Hi there!
My name is Grecia White. This August, I began a new position with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center as a program manager in their Clean Transportation Team.
Previously, I've worked in various positions in the public and non-profit sectors including writing for StreetsblogMASS where I focused on mobility in the Boston region, reporting on rail-trail projects, the MBTA, and transportation advocacy efforts in the region. I was also previously with the City of Boston as a transportation planner working on expanding the city's mobility hubs program, managing our pilot e-bike fleet for employees and drafting various policies.
Currently, I'm dedicating early mornings to brushing up on my GIS skills as well as getting back into Python -- mainly Pandas, to improve my technical abilities and help tell better stories about the important clean energy efforts underway in New England.
Another side project I dedicate my time to is leading Plan Dulce, a podcast and growing library of stories by Latina/o/x urban planners and their experiences, career journeys and exciting projects they're each working on across the country and even internationally at times! The podcast is hosted by the Latinos and Planning Division of the American Planning Association. The podcast is currently undergoing a revamp so if you're interested in being part of the team please reach out!
An older project of mine, but one I'm very proud of from the summer of 2021 is my individual research masters project on public transit and perceived safety through a gender lens. This was funded by the Congress for New Urbanism New England chapter. Feel free to read the report or explore the interactive map.
That same summer I also pursued a passion project focused on biking in Boston where I conducted interviews and put together a video documenting the experiences of "women who bike at night." This was highlighted in Next City as well as StreetsblogMASS.
